FamaArt 2026: tradition, new languages and new opportunities

Imex a FamaArt 2026

From 1 to 3 October, we took part in FamaArt 2026, the B2B event at BolognaFiere dedicated to the world of framing, images, accessories and technologies for Wall Decor.

The event took place at a particularly significant time for our industry, which is undergoing profound changes in market dynamics and commercial relationships.

Being there allowed us to meet customers and industry professionals, gain first-hand insight into the market and present a production company ready to embrace this evolution. It was an intense and rewarding event, rich in discussion, new contacts and concrete opportunities to develop over the coming months.

New languages between tradition and innovation

The framing industry has deep roots in craftsmanship, manual expertise and attention to detail. A heritage that remains central, but is now opening up to new stakeholders, new channels and new ways of designing, developing and bringing products and solutions to market for the Wall Decor sector.

At the fair, we met not only traditional industry professionals, but also art galleries and specialists working with architects, interior designers, contract projects and the hospitality sector. This reflects how the boundaries between different sectors are becoming increasingly fluid, and how the relationship with manufacturers is becoming more direct.

The ability to communicate instantly, access information and engage directly with those who make the product is also reshaping professional supply chains. For a manufacturer, this means being able to connect more closely with the project, better understand its requirements and contribute more effectively to defining the final solution.

From manufacturers to project partners

It is precisely within this evolution that we see one of the most interesting opportunities for Imex: not simply producing picture frame mouldings, but bringing technical expertise, production capabilities, flexibility and customisation to the table — an approach that starts with listening and supports the customer from the initial idea through to production.

FamaArt gave us the opportunity to showcase this way of working in concrete terms and to meet professionals looking for a manufacturing partner capable of going beyond standard solutions.

New contacts and markets to develop

The international presence was one of the most interesting aspects of this edition. Alongside the customers we work with regularly throughout the year, we also met new industry professionals from Cyprus, Greece, Spain and several Northern European countries, a region that is currently showing particularly strong momentum.

In an increasingly digital market, FamaArt reminded us of the tangible value of meeting in person: speaking directly with customers and potential partners makes it possible to explore needs in greater depth, discuss projects and share information in a way that is difficult to replicate over a phone call or through an email exchange. Meeting face to face, talking and building relationships remain a fundamental part of our work.

A team combining experience and a forward-looking vision

FamaArt 2026 was also an important team experience. This year, Mauro Ghidini, founder and owner of Imex, also returned to the stand: a presence that naturally reflects the continuity between the company’s history and a team that is now looking towards new markets, new partners and new applications.

Imex: ready to embrace change

The framing industry will continue to have a strong identity rooted in its tradition. At the same time, the sector is increasingly opening up to the worlds of art, architecture, interior design and contract projects, and Imex is ready for this evolution: an organised production structure, a team open to dialogue and the ability to develop different solutions allow us to envision our role beyond the most traditional channels and applications.
