Always focused on technological renewal and the continuous improvement of its production processes, Imex continues its path of innovation with the introduction of a new coating line, designed to enhance both production efficiency and the quality of the finished product.
The line consists of two main elements: a custom Dalso loader and a Barberan coating machine. The integration of these technologies represents a further step toward an increasingly smooth, precise, and controlled production process.
Greater continuity, higher precision, less waste
Among the main innovations introduced by the new Barberan coating machine is the dual unwinding system with automatic splicing.
The machine is equipped with two reels positioned in parallel: when one reel is close to running out, a sensor automatically detects its diameter and activates the switch to the next reel, without interrupting the production cycle. In previous configurations, this operation required manual intervention by the operator.
The introduction of automatic splicing now enables a faster, more precise, and safer process, reducing downtime and optimizing workflow continuity. This is complemented by a new paper-centering system, capable of correcting any dimensional imperfections in the reels in real time. The adjustment takes place before the gluing and application phase on the moulding, with a direct impact on coating quality and a significant reduction in waste.
Faster setup, repeatable processes
A further improvement concerns the interchangeable tool-holder cassette, designed to simplify and speed up setup operations. For more complex profiles or those requiring longer preparation times, it is now possible to configure a dedicated cassette while keeping the entire setup ready for use.
At the end of production, the unit can be dismantled in just a few simple steps and returned to its original configuration. This approach makes it possible to move from assembling individual components to a set-based management system, ensuring faster production changeovers and, above all, greater repeatability of results.
