“LegnoLive! Discovering Wood Technology” is the initiative created by the Wood Group of Confindustria Bergamo, designed to involve students from the province’s technical institutes.

The objective of the event is to raise young people’s awareness of a sector, that of wood, with deep roots in the territory, and at the same time strongly oriented towards innovation. In fact, the sector has over 5000 employees, around 900 companies and a total turnover that exceeds 900 million euros.

Over 220 students from the Fantoni School of Applied Arts of Bergamo, the Istituto Superiore Quarenghi of Bergamo, the Istituto Superiore Turoldo of Zogno and the Bergamo Formation School of Almenno San Bartolomeo, participated in the event, organized on Friday 15 November in the Confindustria Bergamo Auditorium. .

The meeting featured the speech-interview of the president of the Wood Group, Piero Paganoni, who illustrated the main data of the sector, the most developed supply chains and the strengths of the wood industry. Among these, continuous innovation and attention to sustainability, thanks to the responsible management of forest resources, combined with the high level of recycling and reuse of wood.

During the event, which saw moments of direct interaction with the participants, a video created by Gruppo Legno was also shown, which highlighted the potential and prospects of the sector.

The speech by Giulia Ghidini, Imex Production Director

Giulia Ghidini, Production Director of Imex, also participated in the event, with a speech that ranged from the world of design as a destination and objective, to that of the territory as a starting point. A territory, the one in the heart of the Brembana valley where the company is located, whose nature becomes essential to increase work in mountain environments with a positive impact on local communities, to encourage the push for Made in Italy and not to lose sight the values with which the people who live there grew up.

The experience was edifying and constructive for all participants, from entrepreneurs to students: the result was an interesting discussion that has already laid the foundations for the next edition in 2025. Ad maiora!
