The PMI Day, organized by Confindustria Bergamo in collaboration with Confartigianato Imprese Bergamo and Confagricoltura Bergamo, is proposed as an opportunity for intergenerational dialogue which every year brings students from first level comprehensive schools, institutions and the press into contact with manufacturing companies of the territory, encouraging a positive comparison.
The initiative is part of Confindustria’s Business Culture Week and the European SME Week, receiving the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. And it represents the starting point of a long-term path that aims to constructively address issues such as the skills mismatch, the misalignment between supply and demand in the world of work and the shortage of qualified personnel in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.
The company opens its doors to schools
PMI Day represents an important opportunity to make the new generations perceive business culture, raising students’ awareness of the issues that guide companies’ commitment towards building a sustainable, innovative future oriented towards collective well-being.
The initiative is divided into several days, dedicated exclusively to eighth grade students and their teachers. During the event, companies open their doors to young people to offer an educational experience, showing their contribution to economic and social progress, as well as promoting a dialogue between school and business, and offering hypotheses and ideas for continuing their studies in line with the needs of the labor market.
This approach is dedicated to introducing students and teachers to the world of small and medium-sized businesses through guided tours, meetings and direct exchanges with participating companies in order to strengthen the dialogue between school and business.
Each PMI DAY has a theme, this year’s is “Building“: Building awareness of one’s aspirations and the opportunities to realize them. Building knowledge to face the work of today and tomorrow with the right skills and with confidence. Building to create new products and services by enhancing the capacity and strengths of Italian know-how.
Imex and PMI DAY
Like every year, Imex will also participate in PMI Day, and will open its doors to local students, allowing boys and girls to get to know the concrete reality of a company that operates in the wood sector, with a focus on the production of frame mouldings, accompanying them in an overview that embraces every side of the work, from the commercial and organizational sector to the production one.
